A scenic circular tour, easy to moderately sporty, through picturesque wine villages, past castles and vineyards, all the way to Lake Caldaro – a true taste of South Tyrolean landscape.

ROUTE DESCRIPTION

The tour starts at the Mendelhof in Bolzano, where you can park your car. From there, follow the bike path heading south, past Sigmundskron Castle. The route then gradually climbs along the cycle path towards Eppan.

You’ll ride through the well-known wine villages of St. Pauls and St. Michael, surrounded by vineyards and castle views. From there, a gentle descent takes you through the Spring Valley down to Lake Caldaro.

Once at the lake, several cafés and waterfront spots invite you to relax. For the return, either take the same route back or – for a more athletic option – follow the bike path toward Auer and then along the Adige River back to Bolzano.
